The need to create is an essential and personal form of my self-expression. Miniature sculptures, pictorial scenes, and symbolic use of materials and imagery replace words as a form of communication. Winter Dance by Holly Gage, jewelry artist, metal clay teacher, mentor, author and speaker. The Dendritic Quartz gemstone in this piece reminds me of an icy winter scene with glistening trees. I can picture dancers gliding gracefully across the ice touching plants and flowers bringing them to life for the Spring. The focal is sculpted antiqued fine silver.
Fallen Pods by Holly Gage, jewelry artist, metal clay teacher, mentor, author and speaker. I have a love affair with pods. By holding fertile seeds in their textured hollow belly, then releasing these little gems at precisely the right moment to start the life cycle again, is truly amazing, especially when you consider the beautiful and colorful flowers which bloom the following season.
